Baby Blues – Helping you cope with Post Natal Depression

It is normal for many woman after child birth to experience some form of depression ranging from the ’baby blues’ through to severe post natal depression (PND) After experiencing PND myself the progesterone cream worked wonders, after the use of anti depressants which made my symptoms and anxiety far worse.

Research has shown that one in ten woman will experience PND to varying degrees, new research suggests that is nearer to one in three as most PND goes undetected.

Some Symptoms of PND can include loss of appetite, insomnia, crying, feelings of helplessness, hopelessness and problems developing a bond with the baby.

These can develop immediately after birth although research shows that it is more likely to occur three to six months after the baby is born and can last several years if left untreated.

During pregnancy your hormones will rise by 50 to 100 times, once baby is born and the placenta  is released your hormones will start to plummet rapidly and within three days will return to normal.
